'Probably the best team in the league' - Scott Parker makes Nottingham Forest admission after Fulham win

Scott Parker couldn’t hide his delight after Fulham’s 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest kept them in touch with the Championship’s automatic places.

The Cottagers won a tight game thanks to a stunning Harry Arter strike four minutes into added time at the end of the first half – a goal which lacklustre Forest never looked like recovering from.

Sabri Lamouchi’s Reds huffed and puffed, but rarely did they threaten Marek Rodak’s goal, and that was something which pleased Parker, who watched his side record a third straight victory.

“We’re playing against probably the best team in the league on counter-attacks,” he said.

“We limited them to few and far between, something we’ve spoken about over the past couple of days.”

"I am very proud of my team. It's a big result for us but there's a bigger picture," said Parker.

"We were also without Tom Cairney today and players have had to step up.

“Harry has done that, he was fantastic today in terms of the goal and it was a fantastic strike.

"That's two in three now for Harry. We lost Mitrovic three games ago and we have had to find another way, the players have stepped up.

"It's at this stage where seasons peter away or we go for it. We move on to Friday night and Cardiff and the way we are at the moment anything can happen.

“Hopefully we can keep producing results."
