Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi opted to restore three of his key players for Wednesday afternoon’s home date with Blackburn Rovers, and his decision was widely accepted by supporters.
Samba Sow, Tiago Silva and Joe Lolley all returned for the opening clash of the New Year at the City Ground, as Forest look to make it three straight wins over the festive period, having already seen off Hull City and Wigan in the last week to end a five-game run without victory.
Sow missed Sunday’s win over Wigan courtesy of a dead leg he picked up in the success at Hull on Boxing Day, while Lolley and Silva were both rested before coming off the bench to help the Reds to that narrow 1-0 win which saw them move back into the top six.
Sow’s inclusion came at the expense of Alfa Semedo, who along with fan favourite Joao Carvalho were dropped to the bench, but there was no Ryan Yates in the matchday squad.
