Some professional wrestlers in Iwate Prefecture are keeping busy while their events are pared back amid the coronavirus outbreak by delivering bento boxed lunches to peoples' homes and workplaces in Morioka.
The idea was spearheaded by the bento delivery shop Hachieido in Morioka to support the local pro wrestling group Michinoku Pro-Wrestling, which is based in Takizawa in the prefecture.
After refraining from putting on wrestling events since March 2, the group partially resumed its shows on Saturday.
Morioka-based 8A, which operates Hachieido as well as Italian restaurant and pub, has decided to give a portion of its sales and delivery fees to support the wrestlers. Four young members of the group will take part in the deliveries -- wearing parts of their costumes -- for the time being, waiting it out until pro wrestling events can be fully resumed, according to the group.
The Great Sasuke, 50, a famous wrestler of the group, said, "I hope the bento [deliveries] will bring a smile to everyone's face."
