Pro-Vladimir Putin MP calls for direct attack on London as Russia prepares another nuke

For the second time in two days Russia has warned the West by readying a monster Yars strategic missile for combat - as a prominent pro-Putin MP and military expert called for a direct attack on London.

New footage shows the emplacement in an underground shaft at the Kozelsky compound, 160 miles southwest of Moscow.

A day earlier another nuclear-capable lethal Yars missile was loaded into its silo at the site.

Vladimir Putin was seen in late October overseeing the launch of a similar Yars nuclear missile on a mock attack on Britain and the US amid high tension in the war with Ukraine.

The latest video was released by Russia ’s defence ministry as a leading pro-Putin MP and military expert openly threatened London - the “hotbed of all nastiness” - with a missile attack.

Russia is building up to more nuclear showboating as it marks the annual Strategic Missile Forces Day on 17 December.

The Yars intercontinental ballistic missile with a 7,500 mile range - capable of reaching Britain and the US - was installed in a silo launch pad using a special transport and loading unit.

Retired Lt-Gen Andrey Gurulev told viewers on a Russian state TV propaganda show that he has for four months advocated a missile onslaught on Britain.

“You don't have to [strike] Washington first - it's too far away,” he said. "London is next door….

“In Europe, London is the main hotbed of all nastiness…”

Political scientist Vitaly Tretyakov quizzed him: “So you seriously say that it is necessary to strike London?”

Gurulev claimed that the West was bent on seeing Ukraine attack Moscow.

The military MP said: “Do you seriously think that it is necessary to strike Moscow? And [Ukraine and the West] are serious about it…

“So why are we embarrassed to say that we should strike London…?

“I am not saying that we should demolish everyone.

“We should destroy critical facilities - control centres, military bases, and airfields.

“I am sure we should have a catalogue in the General Staff and it is being updated all the time…

Is it nuclear…[or not]?

If it is not nuclear, you have to calculate how many missile carriers, ships, aircraft, satellite constellation(s)…and long range [drones] are needed.

“And a strike on London, strange as it may sound, would be the first and last warning to the [real decision-makers - Washington].”

The mock test involving Putin in October was based on a scenario of a Western attack on Russia, said reports.

The Kozelsk missile compound in Kaluga region is undergoing modernisation and a revamp, said reports.

The Yars is a modification of the Topol-M missile system, and was first deployed in 2009.

In the October drill, Russia allegedly practiced its response to a Western nuclear attack.

Russian state TV said the Putin drills were aimed at targeting the UK and US.
