Pro-Trump rioter who stormed US Capitol pleads for presidential pardon to avoid jail

A Trump supporter who stormed the Capitol after jumping on a private jet from Texas, has said all those involved deserve a pardon from the President.

Real estate broker Jenna Ryan joined the rioting at the Washington DC building last week and later handed herself into the FBI.

She told reporters in the US: "We all deserve a pardon.

“I’m facing a prison sentence. I think I do not deserve that.”

Speaking to the camera she added: “I would ask the president of the United States to give me a pardon.”

Ms Ryan, who is also a radio host, had earlier described the riot - which saw five people die - as “one of the best days of my life”.

Court papers reveal that on the way Ms Ryan tweeted: "Hopping on a plane heading to DC #MarchToSaveAmerica #stopthesteal."

And in a video clip was heard saying: “We’re gonna go down and storm the Capitol. "They’re down there right now and that’s why we came."

Court papers show she live-streamed the walk to Capitol Hill.

She was heard on camera saying: “All these working class people taking the week off.

"We flew here for freedom. They want to steal the election, they want to steal everything.

“We the people are p****d off … We flew by a private jet, God wanted us here today. Trump is my president.”

In a later video, she added: “We are going to f**ing go in here. Life or death, it doesn’t matter. Here we go.”

Ms Ryan is one of a number of protestors who have sought a pardon from the President, who, it is speculated, is also considering pardon himself to protect him once he leaves office.

President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration takes place on Wednesday.
