A shocking video shows how a pro- Putin regional politician “mows into a six year old boy, then drives away after seeing him writhe in pain in the roadway”.
United Russia local MP Sergey Mamontov, 67, hit the child with his Toyota RAV4 in Tatarsk, Novosibirsk region, according to the police force.
He drove over the boy, got out of his car and saw the child was in agony. He looked closely at the injured boy and appeared to speak to him, bending down as if to try and to help him.
Despite this, the politician, who is also a wealthy construction business owner, drove away from the scene, failing to summon medical help or report his act to police, say reports.

He left the child in the middle of the road and the whole ordeal was witnessed by another boy who saw the horrific incident from his window, rushed to the victim, and then carried him to his nearby home.
The seriously injured boy was rushed to hospital where he was found to have a fractured head and hip.
After his car was put on the wanted list, he voluntarily turned himself in at a police station, say reports.
He was found to be sober, said law enforcement sources.

The Novosibirsk Region prosecutor's office has demanded that a criminal case be opened against Mamontov, who has not so far been detained.
United Russia - the country’s main pro-Vladimir Putin political party - said Mamontov would be expelled.
A senior party official said his behaviour after knocking down the helpless child "causes nothing but bewilderment and disgust".

Yulia Shvets said: “Someone who crushes a child and leaves him on the road without help can hardly even be called a person in the full sense of the word. He must be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
“As for United Russia, it will shamefully expel Mamontov from the party and….provide support to the injured boy and his family”.
The seriously injured boy is in hospital in a stable condition and required stitches to his head and is suffering from abdominal pains.
The boy’s mother Svetlana Chernomorova complained to police.
