About 100 pro-poll activists organised a peaceful rally at Victory Monument on Sunday to show their opposition to any attempt to defer the general election.
The protesters assembled on the skywalk near Victory Monument BTS station at 4pm holding sheets of paper reading "no delays", "Election on Feb 24" and other messages while shouting slogans against any poll postponement.
They later walked onto the streets around the monument to sing the national anthem before dispersing at 6pm.
Protest leader Siriwith Seritiwat said the rally was only the beginning and called for another protest at Ratchaprasong intersection on Tuesday if their demands are not met. Other leaders included Rangsiman Rome and Nuttaa Mahattana.
Police were at the protest scene to keep them on one side of the skywalk so that the rally did not obstruct pedestrians and skytrain passengers.
The rally was organised after the government asked the Election Commission on Thursday to postpone the poll planned for Feb 24.
