We in the meeja are often accused of a pro-London bias. Does nothing ever happen outside the South East, we're asked - well yes of course it does, but sometime the bias reflects what's actually happening in the real world. For example only today Sir Digby Jones, head of the CBI, unleashed a report which said that more small businesses start up in London than anywhere else.
No doubt someone will be along with counter-evidence in a moment (feel free) but if it's correct, presumably it means most of the regional efforts by this and previous Governments have failed..? Mind you, has anyone published figures about business failures and the same region?
