Pro- independence and pro-UK demonstrators have faced off in Glasgow ahead of the Holyrood election next week.
Hundreds of people descended on George Square in the heart of the city centre earlier on this afternoon.
The All Under One Banner group took part in a ‘static’ demonstration from around 1pm until 3pm.
Many flew flags in support of Scottish independence while others held placards that read ‘defy Tory rule’.
Writing on Twitter, AUOB wrote: “We held a fantastic AUOB rally earlier in Glasgow’s freedom square. Well done everyone who took part in the static-rally, the fight for independence is on.”
A band of pro-Union demonstrators also appeared at the scene as part of a counter demonstration at the other end of the square.
Police officers were spotted patrolling the area to ensure that tempers didn’t flare between the rival groups.
The demonstrations come just days before Scots take to polling stations across the country for the Scottish Parliamentary Election next Thursday.
Polls show that the Scottish National Party is on course to retain power at Holyrood, but could fall just short of a majority.
A bombshell opinion poll recently revealed that support for Scottish Independence has fallen to its lowest level since just before the 2019 General Election.
The poll, carried out by ComRes, found that 42 per cent of people interviewed would vote ‘yes’ if Indyref2 were to take place tomorrow.
SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon said that she supports a second vote on independence potentially taking place in 2023 - but only if it is safe to do so.
