Ricky White already received Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week, but now he’s garnered two more awards from Pro Football Focus College. His record setting performance was enough to earn him True Freshman of the Week with a 90.6 grade as he had eight catches for 196 receiving yards and one touchdown. He was also named to the PFF College pass catchers Team of the Week.
White set a record for most receiving yards by a Spartan freshman in a game. What made it that much better was that it came against the rivals down in Ann Arbor. He joined Alabama WR Devonta Smith, Ole Miss WR Elijah Moore, and Texas A&M TE Jalen Wydermyer on the team. This is the second straight week a Spartan made PFF College’s Team of the Week as Drew Beesley made it last week.
Can White compile another impressive game next week against Iowa as they kickoff at noon on Saturday.
