Minnesota has lost a significant number of corners in the offseason, but should the team use a first-round pick on a replacement?
The Vikings saw Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander all reportedly sign elsewhere in the offseason. Rhodes and Waynes were starters out wide, while Alexander was a nickel corner for the team.
Pro Football Focus associate director of content Austin Gayle went on SKOR North to discuss:
“This is not a great edge class. After Chase Young, the drop off is significant. You are looking at guys that are incomplete, won’t deliver right out of the gate. And that’s something that the Vikings don’t necessarily need to force at this point. They can grab a wide receiver and corner back in that range from 20-25.”
Gayle went on to say that some names who come to mind at cornerback in that draft range are Utah’s Jaylon Johnson, Virginia’s Bryce Hall and Alabama’s Trevon Diggs.
