Priyanshu of DAV BSEB is CBSE class 10th Bihar topper

Patna Priyanshu Kumar of DAV BSEB Colony with 99% marks emerged as the state topper in 10th class exams conducted by the CBSE Board, the results of which were declared on Monday.

Class 10 exams were conducted between 15 February and 3 April. The overall regional pass percentage of Patna is 91.86 % which is 3.64% less than previous year.

A total number of 1,99,060 students, out of which 1,29,895 were boys and 69,165 girls, appeared in the exams from the Patna region of CBSE that includes Bihar and Jharkhand. A total of 1,82,859 students passed the examination out of which 1,19,440 were boys and 64,419 were girls. The passing percentage of girls is 93.14% which is 2.06 % higher than boys.

Patna region stood at the 7th position in pass percentage in the region after Trivandrum, Chennai, Ajmer, Panchkula, Prayagraj, and Bhubaneswar.

While Priyanshu obtained 495 marks out of 500, Pratha Banka of Trident Public School Muzaffarpur, Gargi Raj of St. Michaels’s High School, Patna and Aditi Anjan of Notre Dame Academy Patna jointly shared 2nd rank by scoring 494 marks. Harsh Raj of St. Joseph’s school Bhagalpur and Govind Kumar of S D Vidyapith Samastipur jointly stood 3rd with 493 marks.

Besides getting the school topper, a total of 88 students of DAV BSEB scored above 90% while 225 students scored above 80%. St. Michael’s High School, Patna registered hundred percent in result. Out of total 264 students that appeared from the school, 118 students scored above 90% and 78 students scored above 80%.

St. Karen’s High School, Gola Road, also listed hundred percent pass percentage. Ashutosh Kumar stood 1st in the school by obtaining 97.4%. St. Karen’s Secondary School, Patna also recorded hundred percent result. Shreya Sonal and Atia Habib scored 97.2% and jointly stood 1st in the school outshining boys.

Institution wise performances of the students in the Patna region were also good as 92.12% independent candidates, 97.88% candidates of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and 98.93% of Kendriya Vidyalaya students passed the examination.

A total number of 1,38,705 students will appear in compartmental exam this year, out of which 15,068 candidates have failed from Patna region.

Elated over the school result, V S Ojha, principal DAV Public School, BSEB said that it is very proud moment for the school that our student has topped in the Patna region. “It’s a superb performance,” he said.

KK Kunjachan, principal, St Karen’s Secondary School, Patna said, “Results are very satisfying from my school. Hard work of the students got paid. 452 students appeared from my school out of which 82 got A1 and 250 got A2. It’s superb performance”.

Gargi Raj of St. Michael’s High School, Patna, who scored 98.8% and secured second position in the state, has made her family proud. “My daughter has made me and his father extremely proud by her outstanding performance in the board exams. She is interested in Physics and she will choose her career by her own,” said Kumari Suman Saurabh, Gargi’s mother.
