Priyanka Chopra recalls moment she was told she needed a boob job and jaw surgery

Priyanka Chopra Jonas was told to get a breast enlargement and have surgery on her jaw and rear as she started out in the entertainment world.

The Miss World 2000 winner turned Hollywood star, 38, was left feeling "stunned and small" after a film director proposed she should go under the knife as a teen.

Priyanka reflects on the moment in her early career in her new autobiography Unfinished.

She wrote: "After a few minutes of small talk, the director/producer told me to stand up and twirl for him. I did. He stared at me long and hard, assessing me, and then suggested that I get a boob job, fix my jaw, and add a little more cushioning to my butt.

"If I wanted to be an actress, he said, I’d need to have my proportions “fixed,” and he knew a great doctor in LA he could send me to. My then-manager voiced his agreement with the assessment.

"I left the director/producer’s office feeling stunned and small. Was he right that I couldn’t be successful unless I had so many body parts 'fixed?'

"I thought of how individuals in the media and others in the industry had referred to me as 'dusky' and 'different-looking,' and I wondered if I was cut out for this business after all."

However, Priyanka revealed this talk has become "normalised" in the entertainment world.

The actress admitted she never told the director why she walked out.

She told Metro.co.uk: "It’s so normalised that it doesn’t come up in conversation.

"I talked about a movie that I walked out of because of how I was spoken to by the director... It was early in my career, but I never told him why I walked out.

"I never had the courage to stand up for myself."

Without doubt, she's one of the most beautiful actresses in TV and even won the Miss World 2000 beauty pageant (DX)

Priyanka cemented her status as an actress and she's become one of India's highest-paid stars.

In her personal life, she's married to American singer Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers.

Their marriage was an extravagant three day wedding in Mumbai.

Admittedly Priyanka said it was a shock when Nick proposed after around eight weeks of dating.

She told Elle magazine: “I didn’t expect the proposal at that point... It was two months!

“I thought it would happen, but it was still a complete shock. [But] I relinquished control and I just went with it.”
