Actor Priyanka Chopra has said that Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ wedding was exactly what you’d expect from the couple, who she likes to call ‘Jophie’. Joe and Sophie tied the knot in an impromptu ceremony immediately after the recent Billboard Music Awards, at Las Vegas’ famed Little White Chapel, on May 1.
Priyanka told Access, “That was so fun. It was so fun! And it’s so Jophie, I call them Jophie. It’s like, trust them to do that. That is Jophie!” Priyanka did, however, confirm reports that the couple was ‘going to have a beautiful, amazing wedding’ in the future.
She added, “It was really funny. We were at the Billboards. Joe, I think, had this idea that he wanted to do this. We were at the Billboards and he had these little black cards that we all got. We were randomly inviting our friends, people that we met. We were like, ‘Alright, we’re going to set up this wedding now, we’re going to the chapel right from here, and please arrive.’ We had Diplo, Khalid, they were really sweet, they arrived. Diplo Instagram Live-d the whole thing, it was awesome.”
In fact, it was through Diplo’s live Instagram stories that the world first got to know of the wedding. Priyanka praised both Sophie and Danielle (Kevin Jonas’ wife) for being the perfect sisters-in-law. She said, “I lucked out. They’re amazing girls and they’re girls-girls. That’s what I love about them.”
Priyanka said that after the wedding, she cruised around Las Vegas with husband Nick Jonas. She said, “It was so funny! I mean, we were driving around this pink Hummer limo. I was outside the window. It was just epic. I had that long hair extensions that I thought was going to fly out of the window. It was that kind of night - a Jophie kind of night.”
Priyanka and Nick tied the knot in a wholly different manner, in multiple lavish ceremonies spread across several days in Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhavan Palace.
