His Majesty the King has appointed a privy councillor and the army chief to the board of the Crown Property Bureau.

The announcement was published in the Royal Gazette on Sunday and took effect immediately.

Privy councillor Ampon Kittiampon, 63, was formerly secretary to the cabinet from 2010-16 and secretary-general of the National Economic and Social Development Board.

Gen Apirat Kongsompong has been commander of the Royal Thai Army since October. He is also secretary-general to the National Council for Peace and Order.

The announcement also relieved from duty five advisers to the bureau. They are Gen Jirasak Wattanawong, Vicha Woramalee, Narongwit Chatpat, Yongyut Yuttawong and Jeerawan Boonperm.

Two were added as new advisers — Vichit Suraphongchai and Soithong Chorlamjiak.
