A 'sex' shop on the edge of the town centre has changed the name on its licence.
The Private Shop in St George’s Road added the name “Darker Enterprises” to its licence as the Essex-based company restructures its retail operations across the country.
There will be no change in staff, methods of operation or policy as a result of the name transfer, according to the firm.
It said: “There would be no noticeable change whatsoever except that the various notices in the in the premises would change on the date.”
The move was described as “purely an administrative, financial and organisational change” in a letter to Bolton Council.
The name swap was revealed in an application to renew the sex shop’s licence which was made in the joint names of Darker Enterprises and Private Shops UK Ltd.
The council’s licensing committee approved the application.
