Private plane takes bizarre 'zigzag' flight path over Liverpool and Wirral

A private plane took a bizarre "zigzag" flight path over Liverpool and Wirral on the hottest day of the year.

On Thursday, people in Merseyside reported seeing the aircraft flying over head for most of the afternoon.

The plane took off from Hawarden Airport shortly after lunchtime and landed back there after 6pm in the evening.

During the journey the plane headed towards Runcorn and back again and then out towards Warrington.

Throughout the rest of the trip, the plane also flew over Liverpool, Kirkby, St Helens and Newton-le-Willows.

The aircraft is a Pilatus PC-6/B2-H4 is a single engined utility aircraft.

According to Wikipedia , the plane can reach speeds of 244 kilometres per hour.
