Private bank appoints a head of strategic partnerships as it seeks to drive growth

Private bank Brown Shipley has appointed a head of strategic partnerships and entrepreneurs network.

Gordon Scott, who will be Edinburgh-based, will be responsible for developing long-term partnerships with corporate advisory businesses, tax advisers, private equity and the investment banking community.

In the newly created and strategically important role, Scott will also focus on enhancing relationships with the entrepreneurial community.

He will operate across the UK and will report to Calum Brewster, incoming head of private banking at the Qintet bank.

Gordon Scott brings with him more than 30 years’ wealth management and financial services experience, ensuring a deep understanding of the needs of private clients.

He joins from Julius Baer International where he was executive director and head of UK Regions. In that role, Scott helped build the bank’s UK offering for high net worth and utra high net worth clients, which included developing relationships with key professional partners whose focus is also entrepreneurs and family office services.

Prior to this, he was regional director for Scotland and Northern Ireland at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, and head of UK Regions at Kleinwort Benson.
