'Pritchard hat-trick' Sunderland fans react as Black Cats summer signing makes his debut

Sunderland fans are looking forward to seeing summer signing Alex Pritchard make his first appearance in a red and white shirt.

The 28-year-old, who signed on a free transfer from Huddersfield earlier this summer, has not featured for the Black Cats since signing on the dotted line after testing positive for Covid-19.

The attacking midfielder endured a torrid time at the Terriers and struggled for game time through injuries.

However, he'll be hoping for a clean slate on Wearside and will give fans the first real glimpse of what he has to offer this evening against Port Vale.

Elsewhere, there's starts for Black Cats youngsters Josh Hawkes and 18-year-old Ellis Taylor, who signed his first professional contract with the club earlier this summer.

The versatile midfielder has impressed Lee Johnson during pre-season and has been given the opportunity to show what he can do this evening.

Sunderland fans have taken to social media to make their feelings known about the team to face the Valiants.
