Four men have been arrested after the death of an inmate at HMP Low Moss .
Police were called to the East Dunbartonshire jail after a 47-year-old prisoner was found dead on Monday.
His death is currently being treated as unexplained pending the results of a post mortem examination.
Police arrested four men on suspicion of assault.
A source told the Daily Record: "Police and forensics have been inside the prison and a blue tent was erected around the cell concerned.
"The hall was put on lockdown."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Enquiries are being carried out to establish the full circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
