A prisoner has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman outside a hospital while he was on temporary release.
The 49-year-old man was allowed to leave prison to attend Ipswich hospital on Friday.
He is then alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman outside the hospital by “placing his hands on her”, Suffolk police said. He was arrested near Warren Hill prison – although he was not an inmate there – on Tuesday and was bailed until 2 February.
The police said: “The incident happened in Heath Road, outside the accident and emergency department at approximately midday on Friday 19 December.”
They added that the claimant was not injured.
