Prison worker's car torched and another vandalised in 'linked' attack outside HMP Low Moss

A prison worker's car was torched and another's vandalised in a late night attack outside a jail in Greater Glasgow.

The cars were attacked in the car park of HMP Low Moss, in Bishopbriggs, at about 10pm on Wednesday night, November 25.

One of the motors was deliberately set ablaze while the other was vandalised.

Firefighters from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and cops raced to the scene and put out the blaze.

Nobody was injured.

Officers from Police Scotland believe the attacks are 'wilful' and believed to be 'linked'.

A spokesperson for the nation-wide force said: "We received a report of a car fire within the car park of HMP Low Moss in Bishopbriggs around 10pm on Wednesday, 25 November.

"Officers attended alongside the fire service.

"The incident is being treated as wilful and another car was found to be vandalised which is believed to be linked.

"Nobody was injured. Enquiries are ongoing."

Earlier this month another prison officer's car was torched outside a Scots jail.

The vehicle was set alight in the car-park of HMP Shotts.

Cops launched a probe into whether the incident was a targeted attack against a member of staff at the maximum security nick in Lanarkshire.
