Prison officer's car set on fire outside HMP Low Moss in Bishopbriggs in targeted attack

A prison officer's car was set on fire outside HMP Low Moss in Bishopbriggs in what police believe was a targeted attack.

Another vehicle belonging to a fellow member of staff was also vandalised in the incident, which occurred around 10pm on Wednesday evening in the car park of the prison.

Police and fire crews raced to the scene after the alarm was raised, the Daily Record reports.

No-one was injured and police enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a car fire within the car park of HMP Low Moss in Bishopbriggs around 10pm on Wednesday, 25 November.

"Officers attended alongside the fire service. The incident is being treated as wilful and another car was found to be vandalised which is believed to be linked.

"Nobody was injured. Enquiries are ongoing."
