Prison bosses forced to self isolate after photo shows cup final lockdown get together

Prison bosses have been told to stay home and self-isolate after the Daily Record showed them enjoying a cup final knees-up during lockdown.

The humiliating slapdown came after we told how Forbes McKillop and Brian Wallace enjoyed a shindig to celebrate St Johnstone winning the Betfred Cup on Sunday.

Cornton Vale manager Brian Wallace was sent home during his shift at the jail after the photo was revealed. It is thought it was shared to a public site by mistake.

The self-isolation order comes as McKillop awaits a transfer to Perth Prison, where he will start later this month.

Rank-and-file prison officers were outraged at the behaviour of the two bosses, which came despite the Scottish Prison Service disciplining officers caught breaching lockdown.

A source said: “Brian turned up for work but the jail got a call about the story in the Record and he was told he had to go home and stay there for 10 days.”

The St Johnstone fans met at Wallace’s home in Perth, with at least two others, as the Saints beat Livingston 1-0 to lift the trophy on Sunday.

The photo showed no regard was given to social distancing.

A Scottish Prison Service spokesman said: “We do not comment on staff matters.”
