Priscilla Presley says Lisa Marie was 'most strong and loving woman' in heartbreaking tribute

Priscilla Presley has paid an emotional tribute to her late daughter Lisa Marie following her death at the age of 54.

Lisa Marie suffered a cardiac arrest on Thursday and was put into an induced coma as medics desperately tried to save her. The mother-of-four, who died on Thursday after being rushed to hospital, was the only child of the 77-year-old and Elvis Presley.

In a short statement, Priscilla said: "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.

"She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment."

Earlier in the evening, Priscilla had asked for people to pray for her daughter. Telling her followers about her daughter's condition at the time, she wrote on Facebook: " My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care.

"Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world, and ask for privacy during this time. -Priscilla Presley"

Los Angeles County paramedics were dispatched to a Calabasas home at 10.37am following a report of a woman in full cardiac arrest, according to Craig Little, a spokesperson for the county’s fire department.

A statement issued to PA read: “Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”

According to TMZ, paramedics were able to regain a pulse before transporting her to hospital, but their efforts sadly couldn't save her.

Following the news breaking on Thursday, the publication went on to report sources claiming someone "administered epinephrine at the scene at least one time in order to help Presley regain a pulse".

This comes after Lisa Marie and Priscilla enjoyed a night at the Golden Globes on Tuesday evening in Beverly Hills.

Both Lisa Marie and Priscilla were in tears as actor Austin Butler won an award for his role in Baz Luhrmann's Elvis. In Austin's touching Best Actor speech, he said he would love the mother-daughter duo "forever".

In the emotional tribute, he said: "I also want to thank our incredible producers and Warner Bros and the Presley family, thank you guys, thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me.

"Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever," Austin added.

Lisa Marie is survived by her children actress Riley Keough, and twin daughters, Harper and Finley. Her son Benjamin died by suicide aged 27 in July 2020.
