Priscilla Presley describes 'dark days' as she breaks silence on grandson's suicide

Priscilla Presley has broken her silence on the death of her grandson Benjamin Keough, who took his own life last week at the age of 27.

Elvis Presley's widow described the last few days as 'the darkest of her family's life' as she gave an emotional statement on the tragedy.

"The shock of losing Ben has been devastating. Trying to put all the pieces together of all the possible whys has penetrated my soul," said Priscilla.

"Each day I wake up I pray it will get better. Then, I think of my daughter and the pain she is going through as she was a doting mother. Ben's father, Danny, who is completely lost, as Ben was his only son."

Addressing Benjamin's three siblings, Priscilla went on: "Riley, so loving and so close to him; Harper and Finley, who absolutely adored Ben. Navarone, who struggles deeply with loss and death.

"Rest In Peace Ben, you were loved," 75-year-old Priscilla concluded.

Priscilla's daughter Lisa Marie Presley has yet to speak out on Benjamin's death.

Last week it was reported that Benjamin had fatally shot himself at a party to celebrate his girlfriend and brother-in-law's joint birthday.

Tragic Benjamin was pronounced dead at his $1.8million California mansion after being found by his partner Diana Pinto.

Heartbroken Diana said this week that she 'knew the true meaning of grief' as she mourned his death.

Benjamin had kept himself mainly out of the spotlight for much of his life but did sign a $5million record deal when he was a teenager.

He made the deal in 2009 but the grandson of Elvis's musical output remains relatively unknown.

Ben has largely been known for bearing an uncanny resemblance to his famous grandfather, who was known as The King.

His mother Lisa Marie previously addressed their likeness, commenting: "Ben does look so much like Elvis. He was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage.

"Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there.

"Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny."
