On Tuesday, ACT Health will again prioritise testing for people with the highest risk of exposure to COVID-19 and those with symptoms at testing centres in Garran and Mitchell.
Between 11am and 3pm, Garran and Mitchell only tested close and casual contacts, people who have symptoms of COVID-19 or returned international travellers.
People who need a test for other reasons can attend the Kambah and Nicholls testing centres during opening hours, or Mitchell or Garran facilities before 11am and after 3pm.
Wait times of 4pm on Tuesday:
- Nicholls testing clinic (open 8am to 4pm): closed for the day
- Kambah drive-through testing clinic (open 8am to 4pm): closed for the day
- Mitchell drive-through testing clinic* (open 8am to 10pm): 2 hours +
- Garran testing clinic* (open 7.30am to 9pm): 1 hour
ACT Policing has urged Canberrans to exercise patience when waiting in COVID-19 testing queues.
Police said officers had attended a number of incidents at testing clinics, which was taking away from priorities elsewhere.
"We understand that this is an uncertain time, but we are asking all Canberrans to be patient, courteous and follow the instructions of those working in our testing clinics," a spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, people in the ACT who know they have interacted with a COVID-19 case are expected to make their own judgement as contact tracing teams take days to notify people.
