Print services firm DMC Canotec expands in north with acquisition of Leemic

A Stockport-headquartered print services firm has been acquired by Kent-based counterpart DMC Canotec.

DMC said the acquisition of Leemic will add a further £3.5m of revenue to the DMC Group, taking total revenues to near £70m.

Leemic, established in 1972, serves customers across the north west and Scotland and will form part of DMC’s northern region, which already has operations in Gateshead, Manchester and York.

Warren Colby, DMC regional managing director, said: “Leemic is an excellent business which we know well having worked together previously with great success.

“When the opportunity to acquire Leemic arose, we had no hesitation in adding their expertise to the group.”

DMC chief executive Simon Davey added: “Warren and I want to expand our presence in the north with high quality acquisitions and Leemic absolutely meets these criteria, with the same customer-centric values and excellent OEM relationships”.

DMC is backed by Private Equity Firm Horizon Capital.

Luke Kingston, a partner at Horizon, said: “Leemic is a high quality and well respected operator and a great addition to the DMC Group.

“We look forward to continuing to support DMC as it executes its strategy to consolidate the fragmented MPS sector as the leading B2B document service provider”.
