Princess Michael of Kent is ill with blood clots just a few months after battling coronavirus.
The 76-year-old royal, who is married to the Queen's cousin, was diagnosed with Covid-19 late last year when she was left feeling 'extreme fatigue and terrible fevers' according to reports in November.
Now her spokesperson has confirmed reports that she has had blood clots, and is said to have been recovering at home in recent weeks.
A source told The Sun : “The princess has been unwell and has sought medical attention. It has been a worrying time for those around her.
“It has been difficult for those close to her to see her suffering. She’s really been through it.”
Princess Michael lives at Kensington Palace a few doors up from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and self-isolated with her husband at the time of her Covid infection.
She's not the only member of the royal family to have been struck down by the illness during the pandemic.
Princes Charles and William both tested positive for Covid last year, and while the Prince of Wales only suffered mild symptoms his son was "left unable to breathe".
The Duke of Cambridge followed the government guidelines by self isolating at home but was said to have been "hit pretty hard by the virus".
Born Baroness Marie Christine Anna Agnes Hedwig Ida von Reibnitz in what is now the Czech Republic, the Princess is married to the Queen’s paternal cousin and grandson of George V Prince Michael of Kent, 78.
The prince did not test positive at the time of her infection last year.
Formerly an interior designer she later became an author and has written a number of books on European royalty.
