Princess Kate intervenes as Prince Louis yawns at King Charles Coronation

The Princess of Wales was spotted leaning in to have a quiet word with her son Prince Louis during the Coronation.

The ceremony of the crowning of King Charles III took place in at Westminster Abbey today, Saturday, May 6. Prince William and Princess Kate were seated on the front row, joined by Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five.

Their brother George, was not seated with them as he was a pageboy during the service. But before the King and Queen were officially crowned, Kate was seen speaking to Prince Louis.

Prince Louis had been seen fidgeting and in one photograph appeared to be yawning, another photo showed Louis staring towards the ceiling. The Princess of Wales gave a beaming smile as she listened to the performance of Alleluia by the Ascension choir - a gospel choir handpicked for the occasion.

Kate smiled down at her younger son Prince Louis, seated to her right, when he struggled to stay still during the formal ceremony.

While it is not clear what she was saying to him, Prince Louis is known for his cheeky antics. Last year at the Jubliee Pageant Prince Louis was seen pulling tounges and had to be sternly spoken to by mum Kate.

But his behaviour captured the heart of the nation as many parents could fully relate to that exact situation. More than 2,000 guests were invited to witness this historic moment and there are many famous names sat in the pews.

The service started at 11am after King Charles and Queen Camila travelled from Buckingham Palace in The King’s Procession in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach. Among the expected guests are members of the Royal Family including Prince Harry, though his wife Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will not be at the ceremony and will stay at home in America.

Celebrities such as Ant and Dec, Lionel Richie and Repair Shop's Jay Blades will also be attending the Coronation because of their work with the Prince's Trust.
