Sharing the news on Instagram, Eugenie, who is 12th in line to the British throne, explained that the name was chosen to honour three people the couple love and admire, including the late Queen Elizabeth II.
“Named after three people we love and admire past and present, including her Great-Grandmother who we hold close in our hearts,” Eugenie wrote.
She added that their daughter’s name also has a special connection to both countries close to their family.
“Her name is part of English and Portuguese history, two places we love and call home,” she said.

“We’ve had the most special, cosy and love-filled time,” she wrote.
