Princess Eugenie announces she is pregnant with her first child

Princess Eugenie has announced that she is expecting her first baby with husband Jack Brooksbank.

The Queen and Prince Philip's granddaughter shared the happy news this morning.

Eugenie, who is Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's youngest daughter, is 10th in line to the throne and her son or daughter will be 11th, knocking Prince Edward down to 12th.

The couple tied the knot in a beautiful Royal Wedding in Windsor in 2018, attended by a number of celebrity guests including Kate Moss, Ellie Goulding and Robbie Williams.

They dated for seven years before tying the knot after meeting on slopes of luxury ski resort Verbier.

Jack popped the question while they were on holiday in Nicaragua, with Eugenie saying she was completely surprised.

Speaking in their engagement interview she said: "Granny actually knew right at the beginning, she was one of the very few people at the beginning, we left her this weekend and had a lovely time and she was very happy, as was my grandfather."

It's been a busy year for the York sisters, with Princess Beatrice marrying her property developer fiance Edo Mapelli Mozzi in a secret wedding earlier this year.

Their original wedding plans had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus lockdown, having reportedly already been delayed after dad Andrew was embroiled in the paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

2019 was a difficult year for the family, with Andrew effectively being 'sacked' from his royal duties by the Queen after his car crash Newsnight interview.

The new royal baby will add to the growing group of little ones in the family, and will have Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis and Archie as playmates as he or she is growing up.

Despite being a Princess, Eugenie isn't a working royal like her more senior cousins the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, instead working as the director or the London art gallery Hauser & Wirth.

She and Jack live within the walls of Kensington Palace at Ivy Cottage, just a few doors up from Kate, William, George, Charlotte and Louis.

They are regulars at major Royal events, including Christmas in Sandringham and Trooping the Colour.
