A memorial of Princess Diana was unveiled in a ceremony at Kensington Palace to mark what would have been her 60th birthday.
Prince Harry and Prince William reportedly had a say in what it would look like and it was designed by sculptor Ian-Rank Broadley.
It was a small event and a very personal moment for the family, bringing together Harry and William who hadn't seen each other since their grandfather's funeral.
However, people were quick to criticise the memorial and it received brutal reviews, BirminghamLive reports.
Representing the 'universality and generational impact' of Princess Diana's humanitarian work, the statue shows Diana surrounded by three children.
"It was based on the final period of her life in her role as an ambassador for humanitarian causes and aims to convey her character and compassion," Kensington Palace said.
After the statue was unveiled the brothers released a statement paying tribute to their mum.
It said: "Today, on what would have been our Mother’s 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength and character – qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better.
"Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy.
But not everyone is impressed with the new statue.
Many took to Twitter to complain the representation of the former Princess of Wales looked nothing like Diana.
One wrote: "Not too impressed by statue gotta be said. Doesn’t look like her very much."
A second added: "The Diana statue really doesn't look much like her, does it?"
A third agreed, saying: "Not a fan. It doesn't look like her and while I get they wanted to depict her humanitarian work, it doesn't translate well with those children."
A fourth wrote: "I'm just going to say it. The Diana statue is ugly and doesn't look like her."
A fifth said: "Am I the only one who thinks Princess Diana’s statue doesn’t really look like her? Where’s her warm smile?"
And a sixth added: "Let's be brutally honest - this statue doesn't look anything like Diana, Princess of Wales, who was a lot softer and more beautiful."
