Princess Diana's brother shares sweet message about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal baby

Princess Diana's brother has shared a sweet message about his nephew Prince Harry's first child.

The Duke and wife Meghan Markle welcomed a baby born this morning, weighing 7lb 3oz.

Charles Spencer, Diana's younger brother and Harry's uncle, was one of the first people the couple contacted to share their happy news.

Hours later, he shared a sweet message of congratulations to the couple on Twitter .

He wrote: "Really very lovely news today - many, many, congratulations! (Good to have another Taurean in the family....)"

Things we don't know about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal baby

Harry and Meghan mentioned Charles in the official statement, saying: "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news."

This sweet nod to Diana's family touched many fans, and it wasn't something William and Kate included in the statements they issued after the birth of Prince George.

Charles and other members of Diana's family were guests at Harry and Meghan's wedding in May last year.

He's spoken about his sister several times since her death to keep her memory alive, saying she "deserves a place in history".

Princess Diana would have been a 'nightmare' granny, claims Prince William

But one of the saddest things that sticks out to him is the fact that she’ll never get to meet her grandchildren, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

He said: "One of the great tragedies is that Diana would have been the best grandmother ever."
