Princess Charlotte will attend her first day of school at Thomas's Battersea on Thursday September 5.

She will be accompanied by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George, Kensington Palace has confirmed.

After Princess Charlotte's school choice was announced earlier this year, Simon O’Malley, Headmaster at Thomas’s Battersea, said: “We are delighted that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided that Princess Charlotte will join her elder brother, Prince George, at Thomas’s Battersea.

"We greatly look forward to welcoming her and all of our new pupils to the school in September.”

The private school usually charges £19,287, but the Royal Family will pay the sibling's discount price of £18,915.

Thomas's Battersea, which describes itself as a Christian school, open to children of all faiths, believes in "praise as the greatest motivator".

Parents are told their children will be in an atmosphere which seeks positive relationships between pupils, teachers and parents.

Prince George, five, started at the school in 2017. He was taken to school on his first day by his father Prince William.

Adorable pictures showed Prince William carrying his son's book bag as he dropped him off.

Princess Charlotte's first day will be marked by the release of a selection of official photographs.
