Princess Charlotte set to become the 'richest' young royal

She might be only six years old, but Princess Charlotte is following in her mum's footsteps and influencing fashions.

Which is one of the reasons that has seen her top the list of the richest children in the world with an estimated net worth of £2.7 billion ($3.64 billion).

That figure places her ahead of both her older brother Prince George, eight, and her younger brother Prince Louis, three, who have been ranked second and third with values of £2.1 billion and £1 billion respectively.

Princess Charlotte is building quite the name for herself in how much money she contributes to the economy, according to My London.

According to research carried out by Electric Ride on Cars , the three Cambridge children have been crowned as the top three richest youngsters in the world, ahead of the likes of Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy and Tom Cruise’s daughter Suri.

The reason for this? Princess Charlotte’s clothes.

Her fashionable influence means that whatever she is seen wearing typically sells out in minutes.

The same goes for her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, whose outfit will almost always disappear from online stores the moment she appears.

The trend of buying what the royals wear is so common that it has been dubbed ‘The Kate Effect’, and now, ‘The Charlotte Effect’.

But it was Charlotte’s grandmother, Diana, Princess of Wales who was the original royal fashion icon.

Even 24 years after her death, designers still look to her style for influence. Jack Carlson, founder of Rowing Blazers said: “Diana was ahead of her time.”

He continued: “She perfected the art of mixing of high and low, and blurred the lines between menswear and womenswear… She was all of these contradictions, and that’s what made her so iconic - and what makes her so relevant to what’s happening in fashion now.”

The Queen alone is the leader of one of the world’s leading brands, but also by herself she ranks as the fifth “most successful” brand- more successful than the likes of Oprah Winfrey, the Kardashians, and the Beckhams.

Nick Bullen, the editor of True Royalty TV, explained: "The reality of it is, they are hugely valuable because of the tourism they bring in, the fact that we’re all talking about them the whole time, they are brand Britain.

“They’re a brand that surpasses all other brands. We had a recent survey that found that the Queen herself was the fifth most successful brand in the world.”
