Princess Catherine subtly marks Mother's Day via foundation's Instagram after 2024 Photoshop incident

Princess Catherine's Mother's Day message arrived subtly via her foundation's Instagram account

Princess Catherine subtly used her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood's Instagram page to mark Mother's Day (15.03.26).

The 44-year-old royal - who is mother to Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, with husband Prince William, 43 - has abstained from celebrating Mothering Sunday on the pair's own page on the social media app since Kensington Palace released a photograph of the family for Mother's Day 2024, which soon turned out to have been edited

Her message via her foundation read: "Today we celebrate every mother, carer and caregiver whose steady love gives children the foundations to thrive. Here’s to all who nurture and guide with the quiet acts that shape the next generation. Happy Mother’s Day."

Last year, Catherine shared a video about Mother Nature instead.

As for her husband, William paid tribute to his late mother, Princess Diana, this year.

The Prince of Wales shared an old photograph of him as a child with Diana, who died in a Paris car crash in 1997 when William was just 15.

The photograph – taken at Highgrove in 1984 – showed William in a field of flowers, holding hands with his mother.

He wrote: “Remembering my mother, today and every day. Thinking of all those who are remembering someone they love today. Happy Mother’s Day. W.”

William’s father, King Charles, and Charles’ wife, Queen Camilla, also marked the day on Instagram.

They posted pictures of Charles’ mother Queen Elizabeth II – who died in 2022 - and Queen Camilla with her late mother Rosalind Shand, and wrote: “Wishing Mothers everywhere, and those who might be missing their Mums today, a restful Mothering Sunday.”
