Princess Beatrice's wedding: Buckingham Palace releases two new candid photographs

PA

Buckingham Palace has released two new photographs of Princess Beatrice and property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on their wedding day.

The couple tied the knot on Friday in a private ceremony at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor.

The Palace released two photographs from the occasion earlier today, in which the couple can be seen standing at a short distance away from the Queen and Prince Philip.

A second photograph showed the Princess and Mr Mapelli Mozzi emerging together from the chapel.

The two new photos were released on Sunday afternoon and show both Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi smiling and holding one another’s hands.

On Twitter, the Palace revealed that the couple had been “touched” by the public’s well wishes.

“Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice of York and Mr. Mapelli Mozzi have been touched by the warm wishes they have received since their wedding, and are delighted to share two additional photographs of their happy day,” the tweet read.

For the occasion, Princess Beatrice wore a vintage dress borrowed from the Queen.

The ivory gown was designed by British couturier Norman Hartnell, and is made from Peau De Soie taffeta.

It features a square neckline with organza puff sleeves in addition to diamanté and checkered bodice.

The couple were originally scheduled to marry in May, but were forced to postpone her nuptials due to the coronavirus outbreak.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the couple adhered to strict social distancing guidelines on the day.

“The private wedding ceremony of Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took place at 11am on Friday 17th July at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor,” the statement read.

“The small ceremony was attended by the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and close family.

“The wedding took place in accordance with all relevant government guidelines.”
