Princes William and Harry's brilliant response when Diana called them a 'ruddy nuisance'

Growing up, Princes William and Harry always appeared to be cheek and happy little boys.

They were often seen giggling with their mum and loved sticking their tongues out at photographers.

And apparently even proud mum Princess Diana knew her boys could be a bit of a handful at times.

She once told her former royal protection officer Ken Wharfe they could be a "ruddy nuisance", but it didn't go down too well with the brothers.

Princess Diana's handwritten note to palace chef after cheeky request from Prince Harry

Speaking on QuestRed's documentary Meghan and Harry: A Royal Baby Story, he said: "Diana said to me, I don't envy you Ken, looking after my two children because they can be a ruddy nuisance.

"William turned around and said to his mother, you know aged five, we're not a bloody nuisance are we Harry.

"And he turned around at which point said "no", fell off this table, followed by this vase of lilies that smashed to pieces on the floor.

Princess Diana's chef reveals the meals she loved - and says she even did the washing up

"He was always the joker in the pack. What we see today is a style that I recall 30 odd years ago."

Ken also believes that the boys had a happy childhood, despite the drama and heartbreak of their parents' seperation.

He said: "I think it's wrong to say, because I never witnessed it and I was around there for some time, that their childhood, their upbringing and their happiness suffered in any way as a result of the state of their marriage."
