Princes Street partly closed following crash involving a bus and pedestrian

A pedestrian has been hit by a bus in Edinburgh's city centre.

Police were alerted to the incident at around 2:25pm after a man was struck by a bus.

He was treated at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service and was later taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Princes Street was closed to all westbound traffic between south St David Street and Frederick Street with closures in place on The Mound for a short time.

However the road has now reopened but delays are expected.

Diversions were affecting public transport but buses are returning to normal routes and full tram service has now resumed.
