Princes Street accident: Appeal for witnesses after man knocked down by bus

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the collision on Princes Street yesterday where a man was knocked down.

The 26-year-old man was hit by a bus at the junction with Lothian Road at 3.35pm.

He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he is in a stable condition. The driver and passengers on the bus were not injured.

Police Scotland say anyone with information relevant to their investigation should come forward.

Sergeant Jennifer Forbes of the divisional road policing unit said: "Our enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash and I would ask anyone with information that may assist our investigation to telephone 101 quoting reference number 2450 of 25th October."

The incident caused major traffic delays in the city centre on Friday.
