Prince William to open new BAFTA base in Piccadilly

Prince William is opening a new BAFTA base in Piccadilly this afternoon, launching an exhibition that will celebrate award-winning films.

The new building will operate as BAFTA’s headquarters for the next two years, while the current premises next door undergo a two-year renovation.

The Duke of Cambridge, who has been president of BAFTA since 2010, will oversee the opening of new exhibition Behind the Screens, which features costumes, scripts and storyboards from a host of celebrated film and TV favourites from the last 75 years. 12 Years a Slave, Killing Eve and The Clangers all feature.

The new venue will also see the institution double their work developing rising talent.

At the same time, the Duke will host a reception for those involved in the Prince William Scholarships in Film, Games and Television, which launched in 2013.
