Prince William shares favourite book he reads to George, Charlotte and Louis

Prince William has revealed his children's favourite book, which he claims 'saved' his evenings.

The Duke of Cambridge shared George, Charlotte and Louis' chosen read during a trip to Mumbles, near Swansea, Wales, yesterday.

He and his wife Kate spoke to Royal National Lifeboat Institution volunteers, Port Talbot steel workers and the flocks of royal fans who lined up to greet them.

However, it was during a stop at Joe's Ice Cream Parlour, in Mumbles, that he said his kids' favourite read is Julia Donaldson's 'Room on the Broom'.

After spotting a child reading the book, he said: "I read this to my children all the time.”

He told the managing director of Joe's, Adrian Hughes, that he had met Mrs Donaldson when she was awarded a CBE for services to literature in 2018.

According to The Sun, William added: "I said, 'Do you realise how many parents you have saved at bedtime?"

More than six million copies of Room on the Broom have been sold since it was first published in 2001.

The tale is about a witch and her cat who invite three other animals to join them on her broomstick.

William also announced he is a fan of the author and comedian David Walliams while in Wales yesterday.

Although he added: “His books may be a bit old for them at the moment."

During yesterday's visit, Kate and William went to a Royal National Lifeboat Institution station, Joe's Ice Cream Parlour, the Port Talbot steelworks and Bulldogs Development Centre.
