Prince William's romantic nod to Kate Middleton in private office spotted by eagle-eyed fans

Prince William has shared a rare glimpse of the inside of his office - and it has a romantic nod to his wife.

William took to Instagram stories today for his first-ever Q&A session on the social media site, where he answered questions about his Earthshot Prize initiative.

He could be seen sitting in a chair facing the camera while answering queries on everything from climate change to if unicorns are real - and he even spoke Spanish.

And if you look closely enough, you can see that on a sideboard directly behind him is the gorgeous portrait that was released of himself and the Duchess of Cambridge to mark their engagement in 2010.

But that's not the only significant photo that can be seen in the Q&A.

On another sideboard to the right of the screen is a sweet photo of his two eldest children Prince George and Princess Charlotte in their school uniforms.

The Instagram appearance came ahead of the inaugural Earthshot Prize awards, which are being held on Sunday.

William's ambitious £50million Earthshot initiative aims to find solutions to the planet's problems throughout the next decade.

William and Kate are attending the star-studded ceremony, hosted by Clara Amfo and Dermot O'Leary, at Alexandra Palace in London.

Ed Sheeran, Coldplay and KSI are among those performing - and Dame Emma Thompson, Emma Watson, David Oyelowo and Mo Salah will be handing out the awards.

Earlier this week, William also gave an interview to BBC podcast Newscast, where he slammed billionaire space tourists such as Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk for pursuing space travel instead of helping to solve the climate crisis.

William spoke out against space travel on a podcast earlier this week (BBC)

He said: "We need some of the world’s greatest brains and minds fixed on trying to repair this planet, not trying to find the next place to go and live.”

He also revealed how his eight-year-old son Prince George has become "a bit confused and annoyed" at the state of the planet during litter picking sessions at school.

William added: "So George at school recently has been doing litter picking and I didn't realise but talking to him the other day he was already showing that he was getting a bit confused and a bit sort of annoyed by the fact they went out litter picking one day and then the very next day they did the same route, same time and pretty much all the same litter they picked up back again.

"And I think that for him he was trying to understand how and where it all came from. He couldn't understand, he's like, 'well, we cleaned this. Why has it not gone away?’

The future king told the podcast that he was concerned that George and his generation might still be talking about climate change in decades to come.
