One thing seems sure: Prince William’s reign as King will spell issues for Prince Andrew.
The future King of England has reportedly mapped out a plan to make his uncle suffer the consequences of the controversy he has brought to the monarchy.
Prince William and Prince Andrew reportedly fell out over his rude and snide comments about the future King’s wife, Kate Middleton, which were borne out of envy.
The father of three is determined to revamp the currently dwindling public image of the monarchy, and when he ascends the throne, he will take a pretty unpopular route to do it. He reportedly takes a different and less diplomatic approach than his father, who keeps private disputes under wraps.
The royal is reportedly harder hearted compared to his father when it comes to protecting the monarchy’s legacy. Sources close to the palace stated, “Andrew’s Dukedom could be up for discussion when William takes the throne.”
William may use constitutional tools to get things done, as experts noted that the parliament can strip titles through legislation, and the monarch can also revoke the HRH titles through Letters Patent.
The prince title can also be removed with a fresh Royal Warrant, but insiders have warned that it could be termed a personal vendetta if it does not come with political backing, per RadarOnline.

If true, William’s plan would mark a sharp break from the usual royal family tactic of quietly managing scandals behind palace walls. His father, King Charles, has tended to shield Andrew in public even while limiting his duties. William, according to insiders, is less inclined to soft pedal and more likely to take visible action.
That kind of move could win points with a public that has long been skeptical of Andrew’s continued royal perks, but it also risks opening William up to accusations of going too far. Stripping a title is not like rescinding a dinner invitation. It involves a legal and symbolic hammer that shakes the institution. Parliament would have to play a role, and any step that dramatic could drag politics into family drama.
Still, William’s determination to modernize the monarchy and cut off the lingering shadows of scandal may push him toward bold steps. Experts say a new Letters Patent from the monarch could immediately end Andrew’s HRH style, while a Royal Warrant could erase his prince title altogether. Each of those options would make a clear statement that Andrew is no longer welcome in the inner circle of royalty.
Whether William follows through or not, the mere talk of it highlights how deep the fracture between him and Andrew has become. What started as personal animosity, spurred on by Andrew’s alleged comments about Kate, now looks like a broader campaign to protect the monarchy’s brand.
Andrew, once a working royal with public duties, already lost much of his standing following the scandal surrounding his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Losing his Dukedom or HRH would take things to another level, cementing his position as the royal family’s cautionary tale.
For William, the calculation seems to be that the monarchy’s survival in modern Britain depends on cutting ties with the baggage of its past. If that means his uncle ends up stripped of titles and left with nothing but memories of palace life, so be it.
