Prince William enjoys bear hug with Mike Tindall during playful encounter at horse show

Prince William may have visited a prestigious horse show to watch his cousin Zara Tindall compete, but it was her husband Mike Tindall who was far more pleased to see the second-in-line to the throne - with the pair sharing a huge bear hug.

Zara, a former world champion equestrian, had been competing at the Houghton Horse Trials in Norfolk yesterday, not far from William and wife Kate's country retreat of Amner Hall.

And the prince must have been eager to cheer on his cousin after popping along to the event - although he was without Kate or his children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

William was pictured enjoying some playful banter with Mike as the two men laughed and joked as Zara looked on.

But their cheeky exchange didn't last too long and they before they knew it, they gave each other a huge cuddle.

As well as being joined by William, Zara and Mike were also at the show with their three children Mia, eight, Lena, three and one-year-old Lucas.

The youngest was seen enjoying some of the rides at the show, as well as watching some of the competitors.

Little Lucas was also seen toddling along the grass under the watchful eye of big sister Mia and was also carried by dad Mike in a baby carrier strapped to his back.

Despite being part of the royal family, Zara and her children do not hold any royal titles and live a low-key life in Gloucestershire.

However, in March, their oldest daughter Mia joined her mum and dad as well as her older cousins Savannah and Isla Phillips at their great-grandfather Prince Philip's memorial service at Westminster Abbey.

In one sweet moment, eight-year-old Mia was caught on camera giving a cheeky wave to William's children Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who were also making a rare royal appearance.

Lena, aged three did not attend neither did younger brother Lucas, who arrived last year after being born in the family home.

Mike revealed the news of Lucas' birth on his podcast "The Good, The Bad and The Rugby" hailing his wife as a "warrior".

Lucas was baptised in an unprecedented double royal christening alongside Princess Eugenie's young son August.

The ceremony, which took place at All Saints Chapel in Windsor Great Park, was attended by various members of the Royal Family, including the Queen.
