Prince William back to business after Sandringham summit

The Duke of Cambridge went back to work today following the Sandringham summit.

Prince William was leading an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace, handing out honours to figures from sport and entertainment.

He was at Sandringham yesterday for the crisis summit with the Queen, Prince Charles and his brother to discuss Harry and Meghan’s future roles.

William arrived at the Queen’s Norfolk estate at 1.45pm, just 15 minutes before the talks began.

Honour: Andrew Strauss was receiving his knighthood from Prince William today (PA)

Among those receiving honours today were Theresa May’s chief Brexit negotiator Olly Robbins and former England cricket captain Andrew Strauss, who were both being knighted.

Rapper and singer MIA, real name Mathangi Arulpragasam, was being made an MBE for services to music. Sir Olly was being made a Knight Commander by Order of Saint Michael and Saint George — an honour given for extraordinary services abroad.

He was one of the architects of the old Brexit deal which failed to pass the Commons and was given the award in Mrs May’s resignation honours last year.

Another member of the former prime minister’s top team, press secretary Paul Harrison, was collecting an OBE for political and public service.
