In a touching message sent to a Royal fan, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge revealed their children are missing their great-grandfather very much.

Following Prince Philip's death, Prince William and Kate shared never-before-seen photos of the Duke of Edinburgh, giving a touching glimpse into the life of the Royal Family.

One touching image shows the Queen and Philip surrounded by seven of their great-grandchildren at Balmoral Castle.

The warm family photo was taken by Kate back in 2018 and features her three children.

Decked out in a white shirt and tartan shorts, the future King of England George beams as his great-grandma holds his brother Louis.

Charlotte waves at the camera joyfully while holding her younger brother's hand.

Another photo shows Prince William and Prince George, along with the Duchess of Cambridge holding her then newborn Charlotte.

Between them stands the Duke of Edinburgh in a smart brown suit and the Queen, who is smiling happily at the newest addition to the family.

"My grandfather's century of life was defined by service - to his country and Commonwealth, to his wife and Queen, and to our family," Prince William said in a statement shortly after the death was announced.

"I feel lucky to have not just had his example to guide me, but his enduring presence well into my own adult life - both through good times and the hardest days.

"I will always be grateful that my wife had so many years to get to know my grandfather and for the kindness he showed her.

"I will never take for granted the special memories my children will always have of their great-grandpa coming to collect them in his carriage and seeing for themselves his infectious sense of adventure as well as his mischievous sense of humour."
