Prince William and Kate Middleton 'very upset' with Mike Tindall over I'm A Celebrity stint

Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly 'very upset' over Mike Tindall 's comments on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2022.

Mike has proved to be a hit with viewers as many are hailing the rugby pro as the future king of the jungle but not everyone is happy about his on-screen antics. Royal biographer Angela Levin has claimed the royals would not have liked Mike’s recent comments on his first meeting with Zara.

Since entering the jungle, the former rugby star has won over fans by giving an honest insight into his marriage and surprise rapping skills. However, Angela believes that Princess Anne's son-in-law has left the Prince and Princess of Wales 'sad and upset' over his decision to do the reality show down under.

Mike Tindall will keep "tight-lipped" about the Royal Family, an expert has said (ITV)

Reflecting on his motivation behind the jungle stint, Angela said: “What's persuaded him? Is it because he's bored and wants to have some fun? Is it because he's desperate to earn more money?

"I think it brings the Royal Family into disrepute. I don't think it's the right thing to say that when he and Zara met they both discovered they like to get smashed.

"I don't think that's anybody's business, I don't think anybody should know. It was quite embarrassing to do rapping - I don't think that suited him. Why is he there for goodness sake.”

Zara and Mike then headed to Holyrood Abbey, Palace of Holyroodhouse after exchanging vows (PA)

She claimed William and Kate have been left “very upset and very sad” by Mike’s jungle stint.

On Monday night's episode, the father-of-three broke out into a spontaneous rap, which prompted his fellow campmates to start referring to him as 'Vanilla Mike'.

On this, Angela added: "I think that demeans not just his wife, but his mother in law Princess Anne - and other members of the royal family. It's not just a joke."

Mike also opened up to his fellow campmates about how he and Zara met. The former England rugby player said: “I was at the World Cup, she was out watching.

“I got dropped from the semi-final. I was pissed off and so I went for a beer with another guy who got dropped and a guy who was over [in Sydney]. They'd met her before and they introduced us and then got chatting."

He “continued: “First actual date, just went out for lunch locally. And ended up being quite a boozy one. Then we figured out that we both quite like getting smashed. It was a good start."

Campmate Owen Warner asked: "So if you never got dropped you never would have met her?" Mike stated it was the “best decision of [former England rugby coach] Clive Woodward's life”.

Last month, it was reported that Mike 'did not seek permission' from the monarch before signing on to the series. Brand expert Nick Ede told FEMAIL that Princess Anne's son-in-law could earn up to £150,000 for his stint on the show.

"I am sure Mike will have been paid in excess of £150,000 to appear, but the true value of the show is what you do after it," the expert said. "Whether he gets a prime role as a sports pundit or panellist or host of a show who knows, but for 'brand Tindall' this is a great step and will increase his celebrity equity ten fold. All eyes will be on Mike this year."
