The Prince and Princess of Wales are preparing for a major family milestone, as the exact date of their move into their new “forever home” in Windsor has been revealed. According to The Daily Mail, Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to relocate with their three children on or by November 5.
The move will mark the beginning of a new chapter for the future king and queen, who are reportedly eager to settle into the long-term family residence. “It is hoped they will be in the new home in time for Bonfire Night. That will make a fun start for the children,” an insider told the outlet. The source added, “The family is really happy about this [move] and excited for a fresh start.”
The report noted that builders have been working around the clock to make the move possible before the holiday season. “The builders have been working flat out, week-in, week-out,” the insider explained. “Christmas was always the deadline, but it’s great that it’s going to happen much earlier.”

The Windsor property is expected to serve as a long-term base for the Wales family, who have spent the past two years living at Adelaide Cottage in Berkshire. The couple moved there in 2022 to be closer to the late Queen Elizabeth, hoping to give their children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—a quieter upbringing outside central London.
However, the move from Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage hasn’t been without challenges. “Adelaide Cottage really does have some difficult memories associated with it, sadly. They have experienced some of their most challenging times there,” another source revealed.
The decision to transition into a new home reportedly comes after months of planning and renovations aimed at giving the family a sense of stability and permanence. The Windsor area also offers privacy, open space, and proximity to the children’s schools, making it an ideal location for the family of five.

For the royal couple, the timing of the move couldn’t be better. With the children settled into the school year and the holiday season approaching, the new home represents both a personal and symbolic fresh start. As one insider summed it up, “They’re looking forward to building new memories together — it really does feel like a new beginning.”
If all goes to plan, the Wales family will be unpacking in Windsor just in time for Bonfire Night celebrations — and a much-anticipated new chapter in royal family life.
